ACS Committee Nominations 2016
Advisory Committee Nominations for 2016 now open!
ACS is now seeking nominations from interested individuals who are keen to contribute to the committee structure by providing their knowledge, skills and expertise to the five committees which are:
- Residential Care
- Community Care
- Retirement Living
The Committees play an important role in identifying key initiatives affecting the not for profit aged and community care sector. Committee members have the opportunity to contribute to the development of policy positions and provide input on sector responses to key government initiatives. Each Committee contributes leadership, policy direction and industry intelligence relating to strategic action plans that are aligned with the ACS SA&NT Inc strategic and operational plans.
Participation in the ACS Advisory Committee structure enables members to make positive contributions at the strategic sector level while enhancing their overall knowledge and understanding of the wider sector.
ACS Committee member comment: “It is vital for ACS to have a broad and experienced representation on the Advisory Committees to enable ACS to best respond to industry issues with the input of experienced industry people. The input of the committee also assists ACS better respond to questions raised by its members. On a personal level involvement on the Committee provides a range of benefits to the individuals involved. There is the benefit that comes from forming professional, collegiate relationships and networks. Also there is the benefit of being able to have input into industry issues through ACS’ roles as a peak body, effectively this is the ability to contribute to ‘making a difference’.”
Committee members will be selected based on the individual’s knowledge, expertise and skills relevant to the particular committee, rather than being selected as a representative of a particular organisation. Individuals nominating for committee positions must be an employee of an organisation which is a member of ACS SA & NT.
Appointments to the committees will commence on 1st July 2016 and will generally be for a three year term, with the exception of committees which have additional vacancies replacing members who have resigned mid-term.
The Terms of Reference should be read in conjunction with the Explanatory Memorandum, which provides general information relevant to all Committees. These documents can be found on the ACS website or via the links mentioned below.
