Bushfire information for members

In light of the current bushfires raging in the mid-north ACS has been urgently contacting our members in the region to offer assistance as appropriate.

For members who are not immediately affected by the bushfires, ACS strongly urges you to review your risk management plans. Aged Care Providers can also visit the ACS Emergency Management website which has a great deal of information and resources. A number of important contact numbers and websites are listed below.

A reminder from the Department of Health in SA – Where the emergency is threatening life and property:

  • Telephone 000 (triple 000) – emergency services

For the following issues for residential and home care:

  • Re-location of a facility/clients
  • Alternative bed space is required
  • Extraordinary transport is required

Relief centres for bushfire recovery

The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) has opened two Emergency Relief Centres north of Adelaide, located at Balaklava and Gawler.

The Balaklava Emergency Relief Centre is located at the Balaklava Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Balaklava.

The Gawler Emergency Relief Centre is located at the Gawler Recreation and Sports Centre, Nixon Terrace, Gawler.

If anyone needs a safe place to go, please make your way to these relief centres.
